HOW IT WORKS

What is railbiking?

Railbiking with Revolution Rail Co. is a fun excursion activity that allows riders

to ride the railroad tracks under their own power and explore a section of the

Adirondack railroad that never saw passenger traffic.

Railbikers can choose between our "North Bridge Run" or "South River Run!"

The North Bridge Run takes riders on a 7 mile out-and-back trip along

the banks of the Hudson River briefly, through the beautiful Adirondack forest canopy,

and then over the Hudson on a spectacular trestle bridge before turning for the return

ride back to the launch point.

New in 2020, the South River Run takes riders south right out of the North Creek

Railroad Station for an approximately 9 mile out-and-back trip. Riders on the

South River Run hug the Hudson River shoreline and enjoy a number of

incredible vistas of the Hudson River.

Reservations are STRONGLY recommended - check our calendar for current availability.

How long is my railbiking adventure?

Each tour takes about 2 to 2.5 hours.

What's your daily schedule?

The North Bridge Run is offered daily at 10am, 12pm, 2pm, and 4pm, with 8am runs offered on weekends during high season.

The South River Run is offered daily at 8:30am, 11am, 1pm, 3pm, and 5pm.

Can kids come along?

Absolutely! There is no minimum age requirement

Infants can ride with mom or dad in a front-mounted child carrier (like a Baby Bjorn).

Toddlers can ride in a front-mounted child carrier also, but if they can sit up on their own and hold their heads up, we have 5-point harnesses for them and they can ride along in their own seat.

Kids age 4 and up can ride in their own seat, using our seat belts.

Loose lap babies are not allowed.

Is there a weight limit for the bikes?

Yes - there is a 300 lb weight limit per rider per seat.

How difficult is it?

Railbiking is accessible for nearly all ages and ability levels, and is best enjoyed at a leisurely pace.

The North Bridge Run has a slight uphill grade on the way out (and a slight downhill grade on the way back!) while the South River Run offers more varied terrain..

If you have any questions or concerns about the level of difficulty, please call us at 518-251-2345 or email us at info@revrail.com.
